In August of 2006, Wino headed to the mainland to discover a thing called a “long, straight road”, something unknown on his island home. Arriving at the port of Long Beach, CA with a final destination of the Washington, DC area, Wino traveled with hundreds of other MINI’s in the MINI Takes the States event; discovered the curves of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado; traveled the Coronado Trail in Arizona; studied his reflection in the glass skyscrapers of Chicago; visited another ocean called the Atlantic at Cape Cod, MA; looked across Civil War battlefields in Virginia and finally settled in at Columbia, MD. Wino likes it here but can’t wait to get back to Hawaii.
